SC Arts Commission 2015 Theatre Acting Fellow

Vicky Saye Henderson

She has been a company member and performer at Trustus Theatre in Columbia for 13 seasons and currently serves on staff as director of education. Henderson’s performance projects include stage, film, TV, commercials, voice-overs and vocalist work. Her theatre work includes roles in Next to Normal, RAGTIME: The Musical, See Rock City & Other Destinations, Spring Awakening, Young Frankenstein and Songs for a New World. Henderson partners with businesses, organizations and individuals to design and facilitate interactive professional development opportunities using the solution-oriented mediums of improv and theatre arts and has facilitated these workshops for clients such as SCANA, Target, Leadership Columbia, Columbia Museum of Art, Palmetto GBA and Richland Library. She was a speaker for the 2014 TEDxColumbiaSC event.


Henderson received a BA in Theatre and Speech from Newberry College and studied improvisation and on-camera techniques at KVG Studios in Orlando, Florida. She is Jasper Magazine’s 2013 Artist of the Year in Theatre. Henderson has served as an artist-in-residence for K-12 schools and as the Artistic Director for ReWired, Workshop Theatre’s training program.
