All Commission meetings are open to the public and news media. Unless otherwise noted, they are held at the S.C. Arts Commission offices, located at 1026 Sumter St., Suite 200, Columbia, S.C.

  Public Comment

  Constituents are welcome to submit comments pertaining to the work of the South Carolina Arts Commission via the Public Comment Form linked on this page.

  • Comments may only be submitted through the linked form. All relevant comments will be shared with commissioners in packets sent to prepare for the regularly scheduled meetings and reviewed by the executive director at those meetings.
  • Deadlines for inclusion in the meeting packets are listed with a given meeting’s entry. Public comment will be shared with the commissioners up to one week before the meeting. Any comment received after that will go in the following meeting’s packet.
  • Only comments from South Carolina residents will be accepted and shared.
  • Please be aware that comment submissions are limited to 5,000 characters.

  • Commission meetings can be accessed by the public via Zoom™ link or an in-person viewing room for meetings held at the Arts Commission.
    • Please note those in the viewing room will see the same feed as those who attend via Zoom™.
    • Based on meeting location, in-person viewing might not be available for all meetings.
    • Public access will be provided for all meetings via a Zoom™ link posted on this page the day of scheduled meetings.
  • Anyone who wishes to access the meetings in person is required to register by emailing Jason Rapp (jrapp@arts.sc.gov) at least 24 hours before the meeting occurs.

  The South Carolina Arts Commission is canceling the special meeting that was scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 6.

  Chairwoman Flavia B. Harton expressed that she is not ready to lead a vote on any candidate at this time and that the search will reopen in coming days with a call for additional applicants.
