Artist Bio

Shane began his artistic career in High School where he graduated as a member of the National Art Honor Society. He went on to Virginia Intermont College where he studied Photography. He then completed an apprenticeship in Ceramics at Cornell art Pottery. Shane Began his teaching career at Furman University where he taught through their continuing education program in ceramics. In 2003 Shane established The William Felton School of Crafts, where he continues to teach adults pottery. He also teaches in Greenville County school system using Arts integration projects, through the Smart Arts program.

Artist Statement

I like to make thing people can use. While all of my pots are highly decorated, and can stand alone on pure aesthetics. It is the inherent utility I strive for. I like knowing my work is a part of someones every day life.
