THERAPEUTIC EXPERTISE: Art Therapy

Elizabeth Graham Anderson, ATR-P, LPC-A is an Art Therapist, an educator, and a PhD candidate in art therapy at Florida State University—expected graduation, December 2024. She earned a M.S. in Art Therapy from Florida State University in 2021. She works as a Program Coordinator for the Medical University of South Carolina, Arts in Healing, Creative Art Therapies Initiative in Florence, SC and the Pee Dee Region. Elizabeth is a Provisional Registered Art Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. She is also an adjunct professor in the department of Fine Arts at Francis Marion University. Prior to entering the field of Art Therapy Elizabeth was a visual art educator at the secondary level. She has worked with adults and children experiencing a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, depression, selective mutism, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and cognitive disabilities. Her research interests include collage processes in art, research, and therapy, art therapists’ identities and art-making, arts-based research, and post structural perspectives in research and practice.
