Artist Bio

Angela Gibson stepped into her first African dance class at 18 years old and has been addicted since. She is trained in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop, but African is where her heart is. She has received training from world renowned drummers and dancers and personal training from Malian dancer and teacher Djeneba Sako. She has also performed with Djeneba and Djembe Fola Abdul Doumbia also of Mali. Now, she is the Founder and Director of Libation African Drum and Dance.

African dance is my therapy. It allows for me to be free in a world with constraints. I am free to dance.
