About

Vaughn D. Newman, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he began dancing at William Penn Arts Charter. Formal dance training continued at Freedom Theater, PHILADANCO (Philadelphia Dance Company), and New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida. While in Miami Vaughn Performed for MOMENTUM DANCE COMPANY, Brazz Dance Theater, and danced works by Anna Sokolow, Merce Cunningham, Jennifer Muller, and Sean Curran. https://www.facebook.com/vaughnnewmandance, https://www.instagram.com/vaughnnewmandance/

Mr. Newman continue to provide dance training for several local dance studios and choreograph major productions for local theaters in Greenville.

As of June 2018, The Studio – Home of Vaughn Newman Dance (VND) opened its’ doors to offer a myriad of dance instruction. Residing outside of downtown Greenville, in District 25, The Studio is the home of VND – Greenville’s Premier Contemporary Dance Company.
