Frank W Baker has been teaching “media literacy” for more than 20 years.
In 2019, his lifelong work was recognized by UNESCO with the Global Alliance Partnership for Media & Information Literacy (GAPMIL) honor. Media literacy involves teaching audiences (teachers, students) how to both analyze and create media messages. He is the author of four books: most recently “Close Reading The Media” (Routledge) and “Media Literacy in the K-12 Classroom.” (ISTE) He has written teaching standards for the Visual & Performing Arts in SC. He maintains the Media Literacy Clearinghouse website of resources.
