Charlotte Ballet is a Charlotte-based, world class repertory dance ensemble. Through dance, we create authentic connections, engaging and inclusive educational opportunities and transformative experiences. It is our vision to inspire individuals and communities to explore the boundless potential of the imagination. In addition to being a leader in presenting contemporary and ballet choreography and training aspiring dancers, Charlotte Ballet serves as a partner and provider of educational dance programming regionally. Through educational performances, dance classes and curriculum-based arts education, Charlotte Ballet’s educational programming aims to ensure that every member of our community has an opportunity to experience dance.

Charlotte Ballet’s in-school Pages to Stages Lecture Demonstrations are 45-minute performances that feature excerpts from the Company’s contemporary and ballet repertoire performed by Charlotte Ballet’s second company, Charlotte Ballet II. These interactive performances encourage active participation by students through including an informal Q&A session with the dancers, providing arts education that is essential for the intellectual and social development of all students. In-school Residencies are taught through partnerships with schools where professional dancers and/or teaching artists use dance to help students explore topics from language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Additionally, Educational Theater Performances offer a field trip opportunity for students to visit a live, professional ballet performance tailored just for them, including a Q&A with the dancers. With each of these educational opportunities created for schools, educators are provided with study guides/lesson plans to reinforce curriculum connections, such as literacy and social-emotional learning, prior to and following the engagement.
