Artist Statement

A professional, experienced, practicing artist/facilitator flexible to adjust instructing style for all philosophies. My objective is to ensure students develop a love and appreciation for theatre by choosing skits and monologues of interest that are parallel to the personality of the student. The goal is to boost confidence, encourage team building, and public speaking. As an energetic, ambitious, creative instructor of integrity theatre suits me due to my outgoing nature and compassion for coaching and developing others. The innovative theatrical atmosphere introduces personal development through character analysis, team building in skits, and free style with improvisation. Personal educational development grows in the study of theatre and film by reading skits and screenplays, watching performances, and practicing the craft, too. It is an honor to have studied performance theatre during my undergraduate studies . Throughout my career I had the pleasure to be a part of a local sitcom called, “The Metro,” several plays, and facilitate two personal workshops for The University of South Carolina’s film department titled, “Zuri’s Parallel World’s Poetry Meets Screen Writing.” There is always room for growth, and I will consider myself a life-long student open to many possibilities of continued progression.
