Crystal Sanders-Smith has been a member of South Carolina Commission of Artists-in-residence for over a decade. She performs for, captures, and teaches the children and adults through a unique style of storytelling, drum, and dance. From elementary, to middle, to high school, and festivals, she’s entertained and had captive onlookers and audiences from all over. Two major South Carolina events Umoja has been a part of are The Black Cowboy Festival, Jubilee Festival and local festivals of North and South Carolina. Whether it’s a small group or a large crowd Crystal Smith/Umoja is sure to teach, train, and entertain.
