About
Mallory Pellegrino has worked as a teaching artist throughout SC, CT, and Seattle, WA for the past nine years. Her specialties include active approaches to Shakespeare, mask-making (elementary through college level), adapting literature into theatre, devising original content, and using theatrical practice to explore issues of shared concern and promote self-expression (especially with those who don’t consider themselves artists).
Mallory has extensive experience in arts administration: booking and scheduling workshops and residencies; managing a team of teaching artists; and writing state-aligned curriculum to accompany various productions. She remains committed to using theatre in both traditional and non-traditional classroom settings, championing process over product, and enjoys working with students and adults of all abilities. Mallory has been the Director of Education at The Warehouse Theatre (2015-2021), a SmartARTS teaching artist (2016-2020), and a guest director/teaching artist at SC Children’s Theatre (2009-2021). Currently, Mallory resides in Greenville, SC and is pursuing a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (focusing on creative practice in treatment) at Presbyterian College.
