About
In 2001, Lynn joined the South Carolina Arts Commission as a teaching artist primarily painting murals which involved the students in the entire process from priming the space to be painted to the completed image. When working with the schools, each mural has met curriculum criteria for the visual arts and for subject areas such as STEM and STEAM based themes. She is a teacher who enjoys the challenge and enthusiasm of painting with students of all age groups to create a visually appealing image on the walls. Her BS in Art Education is from Frostburg State University in Maryland. When she works with students on a project, she provides the school with a lesson plan based on the Kennedy Center template that was provided by the Arts Commission in 2003. This outlines the process, materials, and goals of the residency. Sherwin Williams latex enamel paint is the medium, and she provides all materials needed for a mural except water, a clean wall, and tables for the materials. A one-week mural usually covers a space of 8′ x 16′.
