David Kiser is host and producer of On the Keys, an hour of piano music played by virtuoso pianists, for South Carolina Public Radio’s Classical Stations. David began studying piano at 10. He obtained a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from Converse College with Professor Douglas Weeks. He he has also studied organ with Brennan Szafron of Converse College and has passed the playing portion of the AGO Associate Exam. He has performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Converse Symphony Orchestra. He has performed the, Pisgah Songs cycle and the Piano Quartet by Greenville based composer John Grier. As part of the Piccolo Spoleto Festival he performed Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 1 in Charleston and in Perugia, and Spoleto, Italy. Last season he played Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor with the Anderson University String Ensemble on the Harpsichord. This season he plays Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in 2019 with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra. He teaches theory, piano, organ, class piano, and aural skills at Anderson University, the South Carolina School of the Arts. He is the keyboardist for the Asheville Symphony Orchestra in the 2018-2019 season.
