About
Sinclair Jamison is a dancer and drummer hailing from Charleston SC. Sinclair’s motto is “Don’t Dance, Fly!” Moreover, he has done this since he began his training at the age of nine. His many talents landed him in numerous talent shows and local events. Since then, Sinclair performed yearly in South Carolina’s biggest events such as the Moja Art’s Festival, Piccolo Spoleto, Florida African Dance Festival and the North Charleston Arts Festival. In 2010, Sinclair auditioned and became a member of Wona Womalan. Wona Womalan is a Ensemble in Charleston SC under the leadership of world renowned artist Fode Moussa Camara from West Guinea Africa. During that time Sinclair was taught many traditional dances, rhythms, and stories from his teacher Fode. Being apart of the ensemble gifted him many statewide shows from Pittsburgh to Tallahassee FL. Sinclair studied really well to be the best in his talents, now he’s recognized as one of the top dancers in ensemble. Sinclair attended the 3 day Florida African Dance Festival annually for 6 + years where he was taught by world renowned artists like Kadiatou Contre-Forte, Youssouf Koumbassa, Mouminatou Camara, Fode Bangoura, Mangue Sylla, Mbemba Bangoura, and Fode Moussa Camara where he was highly inspired and motivated to soar higher! Sinclair was token under the wings of Kadiatou and was invited to her featured festival in Pittsburgh PA on May 25 2012 where the dance and wowed the audience with dance and high energy drumming. Sinclair’s objective is “ spreading love through dance.”
