Having been the creative force behind Columbia’s Vibrations Dance Company serving as Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer for twelve years as well as serving as Long Term Artist in Residence at Logan Elementary in Richland School District One for almost twenty years, Terrance Henderson is now pioneering new independent Arts in Education efforts, creating new original dance and theatre work, facilitating community outreach and activism, as well as Arts Management through his personal brand, T.O. Henderson Dance Incorporated or TOdanceInc. Most recently and notably, Terrance was the recipient of the 2016 Steve G. Morrison Visionary Award. Terrance is a 2009 State Artist Fellowship recipient in Dance Performance and also the first and only choreographer from South Carolina to receive the International Bronze Leo Award for Outstanding Jazz Dance Choreography presented at the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago in 2009. Terrance is currently the Director of Modern Dance at Southeastern School of Ballet and runs an after-school dance and drama program at A. C. Moore Elementary. Terrance is also the Artistic Director and a founding member of Indigo Soul- a soul music trio dedicated to using song, story, and conversation as a healing device through performances, residencies and workshops.
