Patz Fowle is a professional sculptor working in a variety of media from hand-built ceramics to collaborations with Mike Fowle on large metal, public art sculptures. She is Visual Arts Coordinator at the SC Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics and art instructor at SCAD Educator Forum at Savannah College of Art & Design. Ms. Fowle has served the visual arts community as an approved teaching artist through the South Carolina Arts Commission since 1995 with a strong emphasis on advancing ceramic arts in South Carolina schools. Her original method for hand-building in clay: Patz Process Ceramic Technique, is recognized by the American Ceramic Society and featured in art textbooks. Patz Fowle’s sculpture is in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Ceramic Art. She is a Partner Program Advisor for Curriculum, Methods & Materials through the South Carolina Art Education Association and has taught as far away as Tokyo, Japan at the American School in Japan as an international Artist in Residence.
