Spartanburg native, Jim Creal is a visual artist engaged in the creation of cohesive bodies of original work through select traditional fine art print processes. He creates landscapes and non-representational images through lithographic, etching and monotype print processes. For a number of years he has worked on his South Carolina Coastal Lithograph Project. Creal has taught in the South Carolina Arts in Education Program for more than 20 years and concentrates his residencies in the monotype printmaking process with non-representational work, focusing on the art elements of gesture, value shifts, repetition and theme and variation. He works with grades 3 and up. Students love this residency.
