Robert (Bob) E. Howard
2010 Recipient for Individual
Bob Howard has dedicated more than 25 years to serving as a volunteer and board member with arts organizations throughout the state by mentoring, leading fundraising campaigns, and fostering collaborations among arts organizations
During his tenure as Greenville Symphony Association's executive director from 1999-2008, ticket sales tripled, annual giving by individuals and foundations grew dramatically, budgets were balanced and an endowment campaign gathered $4 million in pledges.
Howard has served in leadership positions on numerous boards, including the Metropolitan Arts Council of Greenville, S.C. Governor's School for the Arts, S.C. Philharmonic, Trustus Theater, Columbia Museum of Art, Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and Richland County Library Trust. He has received many honors and awards for his efforts, including the Metropolitan Arts Council's Spirit of Collaboration Award and the Order of the Palmetto. A former executive with Bank of America, he currently serves as President of the Greenville Tech Foundation.
