Programs and Services

The South Carolina Mayors Institute for Community Design
Since 1999, the South Carolina Mayors Institute for Community Design has been the flagship leadership training program of the SC Design Arts Partnership. Modeled after the national Mayors Institute on City Design, a program inspired by Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, the Mayors Institute strives to enhance and reinforce the participants' influence on the physical form and economic vitality of their communities. The Mayors Institute hosts an annual Design Colloquium during which mayors and designers exchange ideas and information in a creative retreat-like atmosphere. Four Mayors and their selected representatives are invited to participate each year. For more information, please visit our SC Mayors Institute web page.
