Terrance Orlando Henderson
A native of Newberry, Terrance Orlando Henderson is a dancer, singer, actor and choreographer. He has been with the Vibrations Dance Company since 1999, serving as principal dancer, principal choreographer and artistic director.
Henderson most recently directed “Dimensions: The S.C. Contemporary Dance Festival,” a statewide dance festival, which hosted four national guest artists. He also choreographed, directed and produced the state's first contemporary Nutcracker Ballet, entitled “Sista Girl and the Soldier: The Urban Nutcracker,” which played to sold-out houses in Columbia, Sumter and Newberry.
With a bachelor's degree in Arts from the University of South Carolina, Henderson has trained in ballet, jazz, musical theatre, modern dance, tap and West African dance. He won the 2009 Jazz Dance World Congress Bronze Leo Award for Outstanding Choreography. Henderson was named a Top-Ten Artist in South Carolina by The State Newspaper in 2005 and received the Youth American Grand Prix Outstanding Contemporary Choreography Award in 2004.
