Jill Eathorne Bahr
Jill Eathorne Bahr is resident choreographer for the Charleston Ballet Theatre. Since joining the theatre in 1987, she has choreographed more than 40 ballets—more than half of the company's repertory. Bahr has had years of training at such schools and ballets as American Ballet Theatre School, Joffrey Ballet and Houston Ballet. Her choreography is in the repertory of Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Eddy Toussaint USA, Eugene Ballet and the Nevada Dance Theatre, to name a few.
Bahr has also taught at many colleges, including the University of Akron in Ohio and the University of South Florida, and has adjudicated numerous American College Dance Festivals and regional Dance America Festivals. She has been recognized with several awards and fellowships, including two National Endowment for the Arts Choreographic Fellowships, four Monticello Choreographic Fellowships, a 1997 South Carolina Arts Commission Fellowship and the William Habich Choreography Award. She was also named an Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award recipient in 2008.
