Kim Lee Keats
Kim Keats’ fiber works have been exhibited in museums such as the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, the Museum of York County in Rock Hill, the S.C. State Museum in Columbia, and the Orlando Museum of Art in Florida. Keats earned her master’s degree in 3-D design from Georgia Southern University and her bachelor’s degree in 2-D design from Augusta State University. She also studied fibers at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Her artwork is included in the Mark B. Coplan Collection at the S.C. State Museum and in the Medical University of South Carolina’s Contemporary Carolina Collection in Charleston. It has also been included in the traveling exhibits, “Craft of the Carolinas” and “Material Objects,” as well as on the Southern Arts Federation and the Medical University of South Carolina Web sites. Keats has been on the South Carolina Arts Commission Approved Artist Roster for more than 20 years, and she has conducted artist residencies in more than 20 South Carolina counties.
