SC Arts Commission Grant Awards
Purpose
Arts Education Project (AEP) grants are designed to support quality arts education programs in both traditional arts education settings (schools, arts organizations) and other organizations that utilize the arts to advance learning in children (social service, health, community, education or other organizations). AEP grants fund projects and programs that use the arts to meet the educational, developmental and social needs of K-12 students. Activities should expand student access to arts education opportunities and should complement, augment, or advance standards-based arts instruction or arts integration activities delivered to students during the course of the school day curriculum. View the current guidelines >>>
All S.C. Arts Commission grant awards are contingent upon availability of funds, submission and approval of final reports, and compliance with program grant guidelines. Additional grants are awarded throughout the year.
NOTE TO GRANTEES: The grant amounts listed below are based on the Arts in Education grant budget that received tentative approval from the Board of Commissioners on April 19, 2018. Final approval for Arts in Education grants typically occurs at the June Board of Commissioners meeting, scheduled for June 21, 2018.
However, this year we requested additional EIA (Education Improvement Act) funds from the SC Legislature, which will have an impact on our Arts in Education grant budget. A conference committee is scheduled for June 27, where the state’s General Appropriations bill (including our EIA funding) will be debated and a formal budget recommendation will be made.
We do not know the timeline for finding out if we will receive this additional funding. As soon as we have finalized the grant award amounts, we will post an update here. In the meantime, please note that the funds listed below are tentative, and may be subject to change.
